Title: Network/Server Specialist
Certifications: MCP Windows Server 2003, A+
Favorite Color: Clear
Favorite Video Game: Anything intended for Japanese children under the age of 10 that has no resemblance to real life
Nick, born and raised in New Orleans, has worked with computers and networks since the tenth grade. In spite of the first computer he built catching fire upon its first boot, Nick joined Rent-A-Nerd shortly after graduating from Holy Cross High School and worked part-time while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Loyola University. Once he realized that his school curriculum was lagging about five years behind the technology he was encountering “in the field”, Nick joined Rent-A-Nerd full-time for the long haul. Nick currently specializes in server migrations, VPNs, cross-platform networks (Apple, Unix, Linux), and special applications such as computer-based audio workstations and video post-production machines.
Nick has been actively involved in the local music scene since the age of 15. Besides playing in bands off and on for 12 years, Nick has been a recording studio engineer, record producer, live sound engineer and has worked on film scores and soundtracks. Nick’s computer and music lives meet at several points, including designing and building electronic musical gadgets, programming home-made software synthesizers, and playing in local computer rock band “A Living Soundtrack” (http://alivingsoundtrack.com).
